smdp Selected to Design Xi’an Software City Complex

smdp was recently selected as the winner of a design competition for for a large office and SOHO development in Xi’an, China.

smdp designed the Hangwei Hi-Tech Software New City Project to promote the growth of the technology company in Xi’an and the firm’s future within the city’s Software District. The separate features of the building – the tower, sunken courtyard, and open plaza – are distinct but cohesive. The fluid connection between all aspects of the project parallels the intertwined relationship of the building, its users, and its surroundings.

The Hi-Tech Software New City Project will be adjacent to the 3rd Ring Road and will serve as a gateway to the Software District, therefore becoming an anchor point and a highly visible icon for the city of Xi’an.
